Made a christmas CD cover by downloading brusheezy tools to add onto the front. I used a range of different layers and different colours.
For my font i used 3D which gave my text a whole different look.

cross processing
In this cross processing photo, this is before and after of what i did. I had to keep making new layers so if anything went wrong i could delete the part with out starting again and deleting everything i have done. I changed the colours and contrast of the photo, and make the photo stand out more by adding different effects to it.
Cross process after
Cross process, no before and after as I saved my cross process over the top of my new file. For my cross process i opened a new document and begin to start on editing the picture, first of all i would start a new layer each time to make sure if anything went wrong i could delete it and wouldn't have to delete everything, so i could just go back in steps with out starting the whole cross process again. I would then add a new adjustment layer and change the way the picture looked and changed the colour and make the picture stand out.

Heal Brush Tool

Zoe before she has had photoshop used on her
This is zoe after she had the heal brush tool used on her, this tool is used to get rid of spots and wrinkles and in this case we used it to get rid of her spots.
We have to put the image on a new photoshop document then make a new layer so we could delete things if we needed to if we had gone wrong, and by creating a new layer lets you delete if you need to.
You have to click alt on a piece of clear skin and then the mouse over the sport and you have to repeat this every time you do this.

Induction evaluation
Induction Evaluation
I am going to be evaluating the skills I
have learnt in this induction of photography and Photoshop. This is the first
time I have used a camera other than my phone and a little digital camera. This
is a lot the first time I have used Photoshop, although at the beginning I struggled
with using Photoshop I’m looking forward to working with it again so I can
learn and gain more skills whilst I am using it.
In the photography process I learnt when I
was taking my photos how to get a good focus manually, so the picture betrays
back clear when looking at it and by doing this you have to turn both of the
zoom lenses to get the focus correct. Learning how to stand was something we
had to use when taking photos it was called the T-stance which is what we had
to do so we could keep our balance and get a better shot. Taking a photo in
landscape is not something you should use on a magazine because the photo image
will be to big to fit the magazine front cover, so were advised to use
portrait. Portrait is used for magazines and for a rang of photos, we were
looking at close up shot, and then a shot shoulders up so it was better to use
portrait for this as the photo would look better and be a clearer photo. I
tried taking a photo in landscape mode but this did not work well as the image
became to large and when sizing it down it didn’t have the same affect as when
using portrait mode, so portrait looked better because that the way the photo
was being applied to the magazine. Most of the images I took were in focus
because I had made sure the zoom lenses were focused at all time before taking
the photos we took practice photos before taking our right photo so we know we had
got the photo right before coming back into class. When looking at the photos I
had took when getting back into class I realized that the lighting wasn’t very
bright so the photos looked quite dark and mysterious, so they did work out
well but when taking photos next time we will make sure the lighting is
brighter and more visible. I learnt that
lightening is all-different depending on the way the photo is being taking,
back light is where the sun is shining behind the person you are taking the
photo off and the sun betrays in the photo because its coming behind and
lightening up the photo. Front light is when the light is shining on the person
you are taking the photo of face, so the light comes down to harsh on their
face which results in them squinting and the photo not looking as quite high
standard quality. Side lightening is where the light shines down the side of
the photograph lightening up the photo but not too much. When I took my photos
on the day outside there was no sun it was just the natural daylight, which
meant the photos looking a lot darker than I had planned but they still looked
good when putting on the front cover. The photos were well composed but we had
been told to take the photos close up so most of them were composed in the central
section, so they were just head on close up photos, the eye line in some of the
photos was a bit to high but was never too low so I didn’t have the too low eye
line problem, but the one we choose the eye line looked in the middle and I
think the photo I choose worked really well. The background I picked was in
front of a green bush outside which worked well with the photos I had taken as
the clothing that my partner wore was quite bright the jumper had a white
stripe and navy blue lines on and she had blonde hair which made her stand out
from the bush so the photos looked nice because the background wasn’t too busy.
My subject worked well and the poses she composed worked well, she also took
direction from me when I asked her to change her pose and change how she was
stood and how she had her face, she listened to everything I had said to her
and worked well when I told her what to do and didn’t complain about
anything. She was very friendly so it
was easy to get on with her and she just acted her real self and the photos
turned out well for the first time of taking photographs.
These are some of the other photos I took but didn't get chance to use them as I could only pick one for my magazine:
I like this photo and in my magazine i choose one quite like this as i like the look away from the camera look.
I like how clear this photo is and how straight on it is because the eyeline is not too high or too low.
This photo shows emma is not in the middle and there is too much background above her head for this photo to work.
I used Photoshop to edit my photos and do
my front cover for my magazine on there. The tools I used on Photoshop were the
resize tool, which you could resize your image and make the image fit, I used
the cropping tool to crop the photo, the select tool I used to move things
around the photo and changing where I put text, I used the text tool to add
text to my magazine cover, I used fx to change the different colours I used on
my text and used drop shadow, header, highlights, strokes, I learnt how to use
layers as every layer is different on the photo I am editing, I learnt
elliptical, the paint bucket and flood fill. I found it difficult to get my
head around everything at the beginning with all the different ‘cmd +shift’
keys to move the text and move the photo it took me a few hours to understand
but in the end its quite easy to use once you have learnt all the different
basics to use. The text I used was well controlled I used different text boxes
to create my masthead and my extra text around the photo I added with little
captions of insiders of the magazine, I used different fonts the fonts i used was 'Kannada Sangam and Lucida Sans, different text
sizes, and different colours I also change the different shadow drops I used so
I have different looking text all around so the magazine cover was eye catching
and interesting to look at. The images I cut out were a barcode, which I
downloaded from the Internet and transferred it over to the magazine and
inputted it into the photo as most magazines have a barcode. I added effects and drop shadows to my
different text by clicking on the layer I added and choosing fx and choose the
different drop shadow and effects to change the way my text looks and make it
look fancy and different. I never downloaded fonts as I just did it all myself
but maybe on my next magazine I will look at downloading different fonts. I
used navy blue and white as my main colours as the girl I photographed had a
navy blue and white jumper so I though it would be best to use them colours as
they will match the photo so everything will look clear when you look at the
magazine. In my front cover I would improve how I positioned my text so it was
set out in a better way I would change the photo and try and take the photo so
the photo has light on it to brighten up the image so the image looks a lot brighter
and stands out a little bit more. The strength of my magazine cover is that all
the colours matched and the colours went well together, although the photo is
darker that I would of liked the photo stands out because of the jumper and the
blonde hair, the masthead stands out so the magazine is noticeable when looking
at it.
